9 Planned Parenthood Locations
The purpose of these listings is for local activists to help people find alternative places to PP, not just for pregnancy, but for STD testing and treatment and other medical services that PP provides. See our home page.
PP locations are current up to January 6, 2026; check PP’s Missouri page for updates on openings or closures. Recently closed permanently: Florissant near St. Louis, South Grand Health Center in St. Louis, and Joplin. Rolla has moved to telehealth only, no in-person.
PP’s official web pages state: “Planned Parenthood health centers in Missouri are no longer able to accept Medicaid.”
We list Community Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics, and other possible alternatives. These were found through web research, with occasional additions from local activists. Unless noted, thePPy still need to be vetted by local activists as to quality and suitability. Here are action suggestions if they’re suitable or if they need improvement.

Site visit November, 2018: the building has two suites; PP is the first one as you go into the parking lot, but it’s hard to tell because it has no sign until you get inside the door. The suite in back is a hospice.
I was told verbally that without insurance or Medicaid, the price of STD testing was $120 for the doctor plus $40 to $75 for each test. One could get discounts based on household income, but not there; only in the Independence and Midtown Kansas City locations.
SWOPE HEALTH SERVICES – MAPLE WOODS (2.74 miles away). 3100 NE 83rd Street, Suite 1001, Kansas City, MO 64119-4460. Tel: 816-321- 3230. Limited hours: only Tuesdays.
Site visit November, 2018: Suite 1001 is a large suite that actually holds Tri-County Mental Health. Swope has a small office on the other side, so you have to walk through. Most important – it’s only open on Tuesdays! These features probably make it unsuitable as an alternative to encourage individuals to go to, though it may still be suitable for being on a list. It’s very close to Maple Woods Community College
SWOPE HEALTH SERVICES – NORTHLAND (4.11 miles away). 4443 N. W Gateway, Riverside, MO 64150. Tel: 816-627-2050.
Site visit, November 2018: West of PP, in its own building; the parking lot was full and many people in the waiting room. I was verbally told that charges were based on income. A posted sign said labs and injections have walk-in hours of 8-11 and 1-3. Racks of pamphlets had no PP lit.
Independence

Site visit, November 2018: In a strip mall, and a Rachel’s House pregnancy resource center is right next door.

Site visit, November 2018: Ample parking; only one person in the waiting room at the time, so not crowded. No pamphlet rack. Enough distance that getting people going into PP to go there instead isn’t likely, but publicizing in the community might help. This is only a check of the physical layout.

For KC Care Clinic – Midtown, in September 2019, I made two attempts to make an appointment, where a call-back was supposed to happen. It never did.
If this were a good place – which seems to be a problem from the outset – this would be be about 10 minutes to the west on the #47 bus if coming from the PP center. Both the #47 and the Troost MAX stop nearby.

The phone system nicely told me where in the queue I was, and the wait wasn’t long. I was told that walk-ins were 8am to 10:30 am weekday mornings. I could also have made an appointment, but the soonest available was a month and a half away.
From the PP center, this is a ten-minute ride on the #47 going due east.

Truman Medical Center-Hospital Hill (3.8 miles away). 2301 Holmes Street, Kansas City, MO 64108-2640. Tel: (816)404-1000.
Truman Medical Center did have an abortion clinic in it back in the 1980s, but seems to have long since given up the practice. The Troost bus and Troost Max bus go right by there, so it’s easy to get to, and is well known locally as a good place for low-income people. The PP center is one block west of the Troost bus, so going from one to the other by bus would be easy.
Manchester

This center’s page says: “As of January 1, 2026, the Rolla health center is shifting entirely to telehealth and no longer seeing in-person appointments.” As we count physical locations, this will be accounted as closed, but we leave the information since their activity in telehealth will make it still be useful.
This center popped up in the latter part of 2022.
Saint Louis

A note on PP’s website, found 12.08.25, says: “Temporarily closed from 12/20/2025 to 12/20/2025”
This is not the normal format for saying a center will simply be closed for one day when it’s normally open, but that may be what they mean. Or perhaps they’re saying they’re temporarily closing from 12.20.25 until further notice, and it’s a typo. We may have to wait until December 20 to find out.
